The Queens Footsteps on the Z88 Graphics

Post by Jbizzel »

I've been working on some art work to go in the Z88 versions of DarwinNE Silk Dust / The Queens Footsteps and Two day to the Race.

Its even more limited that the Spectrum! Its actually a fun challenge to get something that works. Some of these look really nice on the LCD screen too.

One choice is either to have a bigger image as a splash screen or else the smaller images could be on screen at all times. What do you think? - the smaller images are the 3 bottom ones

These were made in zx paint brush

You know, I might have to re-familiarise myself with BBC BASIC and have a crack at a Z88 program some time soon...

...not that I'll be able to do this, mind!
Spectribution: Dr. Jim's Sinclair computing pages.
Features my own programs, modified type-ins, RZXs, character sets & UDGs, and QL type-ins... so far!

Well BBC on the z88 is powerful. There is a massive library of "type ins" (the EPROM User Group Magazine has 7 years worth) - to help you learn, and a brand new BBC reference manual for the Z88 that I helped with last year.

They are all on the web in a nice collection. But hard to find!

Dom M is the keeper of z88DK. So if you know C then that compiles for Z88 (That's what is was actually written for in the first place!!)

So the graphic above was made in zxpaintbrush and then Dom and Davide added it to the game, which is written in C.
