Tribute to Sir Clive slideshow demo

Post by evilpaul »

Morning!

The mighty Assembly demoparty here in Finland is holding it's first physical event for quite some time in November:
https://assembly.org/articles/assembly- ... -tech-2021

I wondered about making a ZX demo to release there, and I think a tribute to Sir Clive seems like be a great subject. If I do this (I'm currently asking around some contacts to see how feasible it would be) then I would be looking for a few *awesome* full-screen images. Deadline is the end of October, so time is a little limited.

Please let me know if you are interested in providing some gfx for this :)

Thanks! I'll DM you.

For anyone else who might still be interested.. it looks like this is going ahead. I have a musician and a few artists on board already. I'm still looking for more art. The theme is "memories of the ZX Spectrum", the format is just a plain screen$, and the deadline is (still) the end of October

Well now, it's been a while, hasn't it?

The demo is mostly done. In fact, it's been mostly finished for quite a while. Right now I'm just waiting on the music.

Oh.. and just in case anyone is sitting there thinking "Gee, I wish I'd sent in my awesome screen$ but I've missed the boat now (sad face)"... no, there's still time (and space) if you'd like to get in on the act!

I love the AY remake of the melody to "Electric Dreams" in the demo. Very fitting.

Yeah, 100%

It sounds upbeat and yet it makes me feel a bit sad. And the song came out before my time (just) so I'm not nostalgic for the music itself… surely it must be witchcraft (or minor chords? or something?) But in any case, lovely synth-flavoured hopefulness-in-loss; very apt.
