Re: Carga de profundidade
Hmmm, can't help wonder whether 'Depth Load' is an over-literal translation for what perhaps should be 'Depth Charge', assuming it means the sinking bombs that are used against submarines.

Re: Carga de profundidade
Probably a mistake as "carga" translates in Spanish to "load", but in Portuguese to "charge" and someone who didn't speak the languages could easily mistake one for the other.
On the other hand it's a conversion of Destroyer rather than Depthcharge so maybe it's best it has a different name

Re: Carga de profundidade
Nice to read about the honorable mention and the translation! (I told him in this forum he would like the game...)
This mini-game was made for a portuguese/brazilian magazine so I used the portuguese name "Carga de Profundidade".
It was inspired by two arcade classics from 1977: “Depthcharge” and “Destroyer,”. Their gameplay differs in subtle ways. In Depthcharge's arcade, we control the direction of the ship and the charges detonate when colliding with the submarines. In Destroyer, we only control the ship's speed, and the charges explode at a depth represented by a dashed line moved using a dial button.
In this version I combined the two mechanics: the directional control of the ship and the floating mines from Depthcharge, and the dashed line and variety of submarines of the Destroyer.
