Wasn't the original just a large moulded plug with all the electronics in it rather than a separate unit as we got for the Spectrum. Only saying that as you may struggle to 3D print a replacement that houses it all, well as easily as the box is to print anyway.

The zx80 original UK version was a rather bulgy box with the contacts embedded in the plastic .

i would like to recreate the white version ( but don't have any 3d experience , except for using the prints ).

Why do you need the print? Is it to repair a broken PSU and you have the original transformer and PCB? or will you use a modern PSU circuit inside?

I ask because looking at the original PSU, it would be hard to 3d-print the earth pin in a way that would guarantee it would not snap off in the socket. Other than that, the shape of the case could be recreated if the dimensions can be given.

Design it to accept a separate earth pin that pushes through like standard plugs?

I think that would be the best way. I was interested to know what 'innards' jojo was going to use, It may be that the original had an inserted earth pin already. It may be that on the original, the plug part is on a separate moulding that could be used with a 3d-printed shell. If it is being built from scratch you could use a brass pin out of a regular plug, although a solid plastic pin would be better considering the earth is not connected. It is quite possible a suitable pin could be scavenged from a phone charger or other wall wart.

Does anyone have a zx80 PSU and can measure the case? If a case is out there, i can draw up the shape and post the drawing, and the dimensions can be added.
