How much for a ZX Spectrum +2 (Grey with Tape)?

Post by firelord »

A friend of mine said to me that he wants to sell his old ZX Spectrum +2 (Grey with Tape). It if fully working (tape works ok).
How much would be a fair price?
Thanks

Best to check eBay, but probably £80 - £100 depending on condition.

I seem to recall (rightly or wrongly) the grey +2 is worth a shade more than the black +2 (even though the black one looks better!) perhaps due to better compatibility. Although these days there are fixes for most popular games anyway so its not a mass concern I suppose.

How many of each model were made? The +2A seems more common.

Both the +2 grey and the +2A/+2B are fairly common.

Doesn't the black+2 have a different power plug? Grey has the same as 48k, making it easy to replace..

Yep, the +2A, +2B use the +2A PSU with a DIN power plug. The +3 uses a higher power version that’s similar using the same type DIN plug.

Everything that was earlier including the +2 grey, all use 9V PSU and mini “barrel” type power plugs (all 5.5mm/2.1mm).
