To make matters worse I stroked the cat and absent mindedly rubbed my eyes. They are now glowing red and on fire.

I think there's something to be improved (if possible!): In this pic, browsing through the last posts, I'm on page 5, but this number should be highlighted as it seems a bit confusing to check wich page I'm on, specially when using a phone.

Besides, when clicking on 'mark forums read' the little screen that comes up is totally blank.

Thanks guys, it's working. Feel a bit of a tit with the wrong theme selected though.

FWIW, I did a load of icons for WOS years ago (new post, active thread/forum etc) and if anyone can find them they're welcome to use them for the topic/forum lists.

Hi!
The stand alone version of the dark theme is ready on the profile to be selected.
Just go to your profile -> user control panel -> board preferences -> and select "ZX Prosilver Dark" as the board style:

Image

As a stand alone theme, this must fix the light/dark flash when changing pages, and also it has some improvements for the mobile version.
Let me know how that goes, and merry Christmas to everyone!

Yep, they are built for a white/light background, we need new ones for the dark version. Also, the set of icons I'm using for the posts are "ok" but I like to find something better, or even more "Speccy".
Glad this version is working better for everyone. :santa

Amazing. Love them! Wish they would stay all year round :-)

Those light-coloured pixels are antialiasing. It's only designed to be used on a light background, which is why you get the "haloing" effect as it's called.
spider wrote: Sat Dec 24, 2022 7:39 pm gif's not saved as transparent maybe ?
The GIFs are transparent, but the GIF format doesn't allow degrees of transparency - each pixel must be either fully opaque or fully transparent.

That means the only way to have GIFs that work on any colour of background is to remove the antialiasing, making the edge look more jagged, like this:

Hi. A new version of the dark theme is available now. Very small improvements, but I noticed some alerts and popups still having unreadable white backgrounds, so hope those are finally fixed.

New feature when pressing like?

Post by Juan F. Ramirez »

Is it just me that when I press like on any post a little loading screen bars appears for a second?

(Fortunately I pressed 'like' many times recently!)

You mean the little circular 'thinking' thing? Yep I get that too, but I don't think it's new.

Is this a ruse to get the most liked post ever on SC Juan?! Like.

Just checked it; the loading screen bars only appear if you're using the ZX Prosilver theme - the default Prosilver theme just has the bog standard spinning circle.

(Another like for you Juan  )
All software to-date

Yeah, I'm using the black theme, and I just noticed it, they're the red/cyan loading bars. They appear whenever you like or even dislike a post (don't press dislike on my post please! ).

Speaking seriously now, It's a cool touch.

It's all a cunning ploy! You have to like it first before you can dislike it!

Hi! And yeah, the original spinner was broken and didn't show up properly when you like or you subscribe to a topic. When I fixed it, I noticed the GIF was not good for dark backgrounds, so I decided to replace it.

The loading animation is cute, but I'm not 100% sure I like it, it is kind of visually loud (and I kind of picture the sound in my head  ). I have no issues replacing it if you guys think it is out of place.

I use and really like the dark theme.
There is just one thing that I don't like about it, possibly something that got overlooked when creating it or a random quirk:
When viewing poll results, it "highlights" my selection with black text, which is borderline unreadable against the background colour.
eg. Here where I selected "1982":

Minor niggle, thought it might be worth a mention.
Anyway, cheers for the awesome theme.

Just discovered the new themes. I really like ZX Prosilver light theme. And I want to love the dark theme (because I use dark themes whenever I can), but like some others have pointed out, it looks like a very high contrast theme rather than a pleasant (homely?) dark theme. The darks are too dark and the white text screams bright. I love the rubber keyed buttons and the top header, which introduce a bit of speccy personality to the site. But these are my personal takes, so for now I've switched back to the light theme which is a pretty good theme IMO. Great job!

Oh, thanks for that, yeah, I didn't pay enough attention to the polls, I need to fix this.

Hi, I think I can tone down a little bit the text. The backgrounds are actually dark gray, so, I think they are mostly ok for most people. Glad you like the light version, I need to give some love to that theme and introduce many improvements from the dark one.
