Security questions
Security questions
Evening,
We are getting bombarded with Spam accounts recently. Many of which are very speedily reported by our members, or seen by Dave and I.
Currently we are using questions like what is the word in white on the B key. We keep changing the key and the colour word, so these spammers must be Spectrum fans!
If you have any good suggestions which are still accessible to true spectrum fan please PM us.
Please don't post them.here.
Also note that we can only offer Question and Answer style security questions.

Re: Security questions
Thanks @Morkin,
Fixed. I must have been two eager with the copy and pasting! I need to update the questions anyway. I got some good suggestions a few weeks ago.
We manually approve registrations now, and even when we ask additional questions spammers answer them. It's not a battle we can 100% win.

Re: Security questions
The Q/A is a sane idea as long as there's a few questions and it can accept different answers as valid (if appropriate)
KeyCapcha is also quite good, the puzzle assembly one.
Do agree manual validation will help a lot even though its a fair bit of work.
Thanks as usual for all the "behind the scenes" stuff.

Re: Security questions
It's been asking me each time I log in now. Must have exceeded the 'sausage thumb' password entry quota

Re: Security questions
Can you not issue everyone with a colour chart?
Re: Security questions
I've been getting that as well today. I've also been having issues with the server getting pounded over the last few weeks.
Hopefully they will get bored....

Step up to red alert. Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb
