Off-topic but amusing: "Wheelie" was released in 1983, and Crash's review says: "'The makers boast that Wheelie has some of the best graphics you're ever likely to see on a Spectrum. I'd like to think that there's still room for improvement as time goes by."

That statement must have been laughable even by 1984. And damn, we could show them some things now.

Two valiant attempts, Firelord, but I'm sorry to say  they both break the rule:
Lee Bee wrote: Sun Jan 01, 2023 12:59 am The game you choose may not contain the key word in its title. That rule is there to prevent long chains of games using the same word over and over, to prevent sequels being used, and to prevent players just searching for titles containing that word, instead it challenges players' knowledge of what's actually in games!
I'm starting to wonder if the rule should be scrapped? What do you think, folks? I added the rule to make the game more fun and a little more challenging, but I don't want it to be a burden. It's been tripping up a lot of players, because you can't really infer it by observing the game being played. Maybe it's unwanted and annoying? I still think it's a good rule, but I want everyone to enjoy the game. If you guys think the game would be better without the rule then perhaps we ought to scrap it? Feel free to suggest changes!

I think it's a good rule - it's too easy to search the archive for a key word. The only problem is that you/we will probably need to explain it relatively regularly to noobs (as you had to with me a few days ago), but hopefully less and less as time passes.

No, its like any word-association type game, choose a different word each time. Otherwise we just get Starglider>Starquake>Star Wars which would be dull.

I’m in favor of keeping the rule, otherwise it’s too easy and could result in an infinite loop.

I thought I read somewhere that it doesn't matter if the word is in the name as long as you can also see in the screenshot

It stated that the word can appear on the screen as long as you can also see the graphic on the screen.

Sorry, these rules are proving to be quite confusing! Let me try to clarify…

• Keyword is depicted graphically in the screenshot
                          ✅ Essential

• Keyword is ALSO written somewhere in the screenshot
                          ✅ Allowed

• Keyword features in the game's title
                          ❌ Not allowed

This one's mine. From Sword and Shield to:

Alchemist.

I had a choice of two different swords to show off as well... and the Shield spell, and some sword-shaped enemies...
Spectribution: Dr. Jim's Sinclair computing pages.
Features my own programs, modified type-ins, RZXs, character sets & UDGs, and QL type-ins... so far!
