Another newbie question.

How do you export sound from the ZX Spectrum to use in your own youtue videos for
example? Maybe want to showcase a game or export your own beep masterpiece.

Video sorted - Composite mod to HDMI converter > fed into a USB HDMI standalone recorder.
If the HDMI signal has sound then its recorded as well, all to .mp4

I've never captured audio from a real Spectrum, but I would think you could just use one of those standard composite video cables (with a yellow phono plug for video, and red and white ones for 'stereo' audio). Then connect the audio plugs to an adapter cable that combines stereo phono down into a mini jack output. This goes into the back of your computer? This is basically how I capture audio from a tape recorder.

Audio output is mono on original Spectrums. 48K/toastrack/+2 is a mono 3.5mm socket. +2A/+3 are on one channel of a stereo 3.5mm socket.

It’s simply a case of using a cable with the correct plug at the spectrum end, and appropriate mono to stereo splitting to present it on both stereo channels of whatever standard audio plugs you want at the other end of the cable.

I use the emulator Spectaculator, and that can record WAV files directly.

Thanks guys. A daft question (no 998!).
Could you solder wires to the speaker output and patch a cable out to a 3.5mm jack
for connection to who knows where?

This doesn't seem unreasonable but I'd be tempted to wire it to a tiny amplifier, then plug in to that.
