That was the idea if the Real Adventures of Dr Robbie PSSST.
You can do the same things as PSSST but in text adventure..

Quite good. I'm sure several CSSCGC entries have also demade arcade games into text adventures, although the names of any escape me at the moment

"Top Gun 2 MaveRick Dangerous"... The most action that could possible fit in an adventure
.Dogfight with the latest fighter planes and try to avoid and destroy the latest ground defence systems.The only game that you can actually nuke the president of the USA (indirectly)...
"Real adventures of Cookie Man" an attempt to
port "Cookie" to the adventure genre.

believe it or not there is an aeroplane fighting text adventure for the spectrum

And also believe it or not, there is a text game on C64 about a game of basketball.

As to chess games, they would be still chess games just with an original interface.

You could adapt Lords of Midnight to a text adventure without losing any functionality.

'Luxor the Moonprince stands on the Plains of the Moon. He is invigorated. North, in the middle distance, he sees a hill. Behind that, more plains and behind that is a mountain. Northeast, close by, are some frankly massive wolves. Behind those, plains. Behind that, hills. Behind that, mountains. There is a keep in those mountains. East, he sees a group of linebackers.' And so on.

I don't recommend that anyone do this.

I must mention here the first CSSCGC games I played

-Dark room simulator

These games inspired me to enter the CSSCGC universe.

(note: I didn't know then what a "CSSCGC" was - I thought it was just a contest , so before I played them I thought they were serious games in a serious competition)
