ZX PicoIF2Lite now with Z80/SNA Support

Post by TomD »

My Interface 2 Lite project now has Z80 & SNA snapshot support including 128k meaning you can now create ROMs from, in theory, any game 🙂

Quick video of it in action https://www.youtube.com/shorts/2tUaPznXkzk

Will be uploading the new version to my GitHub soon if you are interested in checking it out (https://github.com/TomDDG/ZXPicoIF2Lite)

Great stuff @TomD. Wonderful progress. It's great that you are able to get so much out of the Pico, especially with the more traditional models being hard to come by. Thanks of course also to @dfzx for his original project.

PIO is amazing. It almost feels like you're not cheating by using modern microcontroller as it's very low level assembly programming.

I'm playing with similar project myself, but instead of DB9 joystick connector, I'm looking to utilise the otg usb port of PICO and make it work with USB game controllers (make them look like Kempston joystick to Z80). That could also be a cheap way to use usb mouse and disguise it as Kempston mouse.
