We list Elfindor (Sigmasoft) as having been released in 1985. However, the loading screen shows a year of 1983:
https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/alt/624 ... m/Elfindor
Furthermore, the game is a revised version of the earlier Dwarfs Domain (King Software), which we list as a 1984 release (and which has no year on the loading screen):
https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/alt/623 ... rfs_Domain
So something might be slightly wrong here...
Release year for Elfindor / Dwarfs Domain

Re: Release year for Elfindor / Dwarfs Domain
Not really wrong.
But there *is* some evidence to suggest that Dwarf's Domain, the first release of the game, could be put down as a 1983 game as the early references are from the first quarter of 1984... (e.g. this February one)
e.g. https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/page.ph ... 91&page=50
The copyright date of 1983 on Elfindor, the name of the game when it was released later, just reflects that initial creation date. There isn't an earlier reference for Elfindor than 1985. And the code shows Elfindor was adapted from Dwarf's Domain: http://8bitag.com/temp/dwarfs-elfindor.pdf

Re: Release year for Elfindor / Dwarfs Domain
Yeah, I was thinking it was odd that the loading screen should include the (new) Sigmasoft name, but preserve the old copyright year. On the other hand, we have all seen: "(c) 1982 Amstrad" -- so I guess it's acceptable to use an old year when taking over a product or service (though it's not likely to make you look very good).
Sequel before prequel, except after c.
