Bugfix provided by Mr. Anonymous:
  • Game crashes as soon as you reach 80,000 points. This is due to a LDI instruction running in conjunction with a DJNZ, i.e. the LDI decrements the counter to zero then it has to cycle another 256 times resulting in the crash soon after. Every 10,000 points you get an extra life upto a maximum and the error occurs when it tries to print the life onto the screen. A simple fix is to disable printing it, so you will not see that you have received an extra life every 10,000 points although you will most certainly have still gotten it.
    Fixed using POKE 50812,201
