Reviews for Crazy Cars II (#1123)

Review by Raphie on 12 Feb 2012 (Rating: 4)

Rememer Crazy Cars? You know the one where you just drive and drive and drive and things get boring really quickly, well guess what there was a sequel to it and it's nearly the same EXCEPT that you have to follow routes to reach certain destinations and avoid the police, plus you can crash, thus being a proper sequel and a better game than the original in the process. It can still get a bit boring because at times there seems to be no end to it, but this is much more enjoyable than the first game, mainly because you actually have something to do in it other than drive.

Happy New Year everyone!

I was sure this would have been better than Crazy Cars, turns out though that it's even worse! Yes there are routes to take but getting to them is a bleeding nightmare, because you crash pretty much all the time and when you do whilst taking the correct route it respawns you on the OTHER route, meaning what you did was a waste of time, like playing this game was a waste of time. Also, you can shift up but you can never shift down, so if you manage to prematurely go to high gear you are toast. So I much prefer bland Crazy Cars 1 over this tripe. I should have known, Titus. Did they ever game a good game?

Crazy Cars II is a definite improvement over the first chapter of the series. You now can drive only one car, a Ferrari F40, but at least all that speed has a purpose. You must destroy a stolen car racket racing against corrupt policemen in pursuit of you. There is also a bit of planning in choosing the right route in order to proceed and evade from your enemies.
Graphics, sound and gameplay are all better than Crazy Cars, and I see no serious motivation to prefer the first game over this.
On a side note, one of the reviewers wrote that you can never shift the gear down. Of course you can, just press FIRE and DOWN, the same way as in order to shift it up you must press FIRE and UP.

In agreement that this is a far better game compared to the original Crazy Cars. The graphics are better and the gameplay is much improved and is less of a drag like the first one was. Not brilliant, it's still not on the same league as Chase HQ or WEC for instance, but a definite improvement from Crazy Cars 1.
