Here you have, the hero from Mega-City on a sort of Robocop meets Batman The Movie game. This title is mostly a shoot 'em up, but there are objects and tasks to execute in each of the levels.
Most levels look the same, but each as it's own story and enemies to defeat. Anyone familiar with Pat Mills comics, will recognize the baddies in the game.
The first level features one of the most unusual villains of any comic, The League of Fatties. It's the most arcade level, but the purpose is to shut down four food dispensers and guard a food convoy as it heads it's way to feed starving millions.
Level two presents Professor Fribb who has created an enzyme that reverses the process of evolution. This harmful enzyme has escaped through the ventilation systems and turned the inhabitants into something less than human. Dredd as to eradicate this enzyme
by closing the outlets from the vents system, while taking mutants. After doing that he heads for Professor Fribb's lab to arrest the amoeba that is now Prof Fribb.
Level three stars Orlok, the Assassin, who started the infamous gang war called Block mania. He and his comrades are now contaminating the Aqua Plant which Dredd must stop.
In level four, Orlok tries another scheme of contamination, this time is the Weather Station.
Level five is where the outbreak of Block mania gets out of control and Judge Dredd must put a stop to it. It's also the last appearance of Orlok.
Finally, level six, where Dredd must come face to face with the Dark Judges and the only way to get rid of them is by using dimension bombs.
Overall this is a good game, much better than the confusing riddled-with-keys Melbourne House offer. The averagely complex story thru each level, makes the game less repetitive, but I somehow would prefer different looking backgrounds representing each block and scene which in turn do make the game a bit repetitive looking.
