Reviews for Dragon Ninja (#1488)

Superb conversion of Data East's Bad Dudes vs Dragonninja. It has superb graphics and tremendous playability, sure there's no colour in the playing area but the sprite are really well drawn and the backgrounds are stunning. Plus this game has amazing title music once more from Jonathan Dunn. Dragon Ninja is an awesome game that you should definately try out.

An ace conversion of the epic Data-East beat-em-up arcade game.
Its a sideways scrolling game, with platform type levels. Its about as good a rendition of the game as you could hope for on a spectrum. The only things lacking that would make the game perfect, is a bit of colour and the two player mode.
A friend of mine bought this for his +3, shortly after we had completed the arcade game with our saturday-job money. The speccy version was just as much fun to play through, albeit taking it in turns.

It sure looks alright and the music indeed is wonderful, but the gameplay was just too fussy for me and I never enjoyed the higher and lower platform element to it as half the time he wouldn't do it. It's popular for some and I see why, but misses the mark for me. One I won't be going back to anytime soon.

It's a good gang beat'em up with horizontal scrolling where you must save president Bush so he can start the first Iraq war a couple of years later.
Monochrome graphics with nice animation, nice tunes, good playability - although the first three levels are very easy, while the fourth or fifth immediately starts in an impossible way.
Also, controls could have been a little more responsive. Nonetheless, it was a quality release.
