After a loooong wait for the message "PLEASE WAIT" to dissapear the game started and I must say I'm pretty impressed.
The game was written in BASIC as a type-in for a Spectrum related book and although having all the normal problems BASIC written game have, like slow speed, flickering, etc, this one is very well programmed.
It's a sort of a Penetrator clone. You move your plane thru mountains and plains, destroys radars, collecting fuel and destroying enemies when you they appear. I've counted several different enemies, all with different characteristics. Mind you this in not R-Type, it's a simple BASIC game, so don't go expecting something out of the ordinary, but I think it is very well done, and it's probably one of the 3 best written games using this language I have ever played.
