Reviews for Gilbert: Escape from Drill (#2044)

I've never seen the cartoon it's based on and so I cannot give you any references related to it, and after playing this I don't think I am in any hurry to locate any episodes on YouTube because this was tedious. The potential's there, you get rid of various enemies with snot (yes, really) and play some minigames along the way, but like I said, it was a drag. The whole meat of the game is to get rid of the enemies and escape from Drill, hence its title, but it is largely tedious and uninteresting and the real fun of the game, the minigames, are a nice touch but they are so sparse that finding one appears to be a matter of chance, unless I'm missing something that is. If this was a typical Alternative Software budget game, which it was re-released as, I wouldn't have minded it so much, but this was published by Again Again which may have been an Alternative label back then, but they certainly own it now, and it was TEN BLOODY POUNDS! For something which has pretty much the same thrill level as almost all of Alternative's licensed budget titles, which is almost nil. I wonder if the 16-bit versions are better? Nah don't really care to be honest.
