A version of 'connect 4' published as a type-in. A smart bit of code which produces a playable game. Very efficient and smartly presented, you couldn't ask for more from a magazine basic listing.
I have only given this one a 3, as being a type-in program it is obviously a bit simple. However, it is a five star example of a basic type-in, and is definitely worth a quick play.

And here's the Connect 4 game I was supposed to review if only for my mishap in playing the wrong one for 15 minutes before realising it was the wrong one. I should have known, this has a review already and the other didn't, no one's fault but mine but never mind let's get right to it. I'm conflicted about this one. It feels more slower and boring compared to the Your Computer version, however it also feels more proper with a much clever opponent especially on hard which makes the difference for me. I didn't mind this version really. I'm not entirely sure if it's better than the Atlantis version but the question really is is it better than the Your Computer version? And I think it's a narrow yes in that it felt like a proper game and a proper challenge, rather the computer can randomly give up and hand you an easy victory when it feels like it like it did in the previous game. So for that alone, I have to give this the nod, the acknowledgement as a better game and subsequently the higher mark.
