1987 Streetwise (UK)
by Graham Stafford and Jonathan Eggelton

What a mess. If this game was written in say, 1984, I would be a little bit more tolerant, but 1987? The game plays like any side scrolling shoot 'em up, but it's so badly written and presented that becomes confusing and unappealing. It's hard to control our character in some situations just because of the lack of key responsiveness. Also the background color gets easily mixed with everything else, making it a pain to look at.

S trange that this game was not evaluated till now. Being a relative big launch, with several versions. Anyway, the only big real thing about it is real disappointment

I played this game back in the day and I liked it due to its cartoony, colorful graphics and no-nonsense action. You had to be careful where you moved and learn which weapons were effective against the various enemies. A bit like a flip-screen Green Beret, with less action but more thought.

Nowadays I find it a bit bland and not as exciting as I remembered it, but still decent nonetheless. 6/10.
