Reviews for Minefield (#3216)

I used to play this game in the early 80s on a black and white tv on my friends Spectrum - I didn't have my own one at the time. Back then it was fierce competition to get the highest score on this game which is 'Snake' or Blockade from Gremlin in 1976. Very simple but a good challenge in competition. Basic graphics.

Now it's Minefield and it's not Astral this time and instead it is J.K. Greye the publishers of this compilation which I'm regretting reviewing already. And now we appear to have done away with arcade inspirations, oh wait hold on this is a version of Snake, not an arcade game by structure but very much an arcade game by design. Except this is Snake but with all the fun taken out of it. See you are a car and you have to drop mines as you move, and that's it, the mines sit there and they never disappear and you are destined to hit one, there is no objective except dropping as many as you can before meeting your inevitable death. Well I mean it's responsive and it's much better than Kamikaze but, let's just say Snake has been done much better compared to this.
