Reviews for Out for the Count (#3557)

This I suppose is a predecessor to Devastating Blow which I reviewed earlier this year as this is written by the same bloke. It's slower, uglier, and it's even more difficult to punch your opponent. While I gave Devastating Blow a 2 playing this now and comparing it to this it deserves a score of 20 because it's streets ahead of this dung. Be sure to check out Dynamite Designs' "forth coming" games - Hands of Stone, World Football, Seasons Sporting Specials and Super Fruity Simulator, actually none of these exist because this was their only ever game, figures.

1989 Dynamite Designs (UK)

A rather bland boxing simulator. You get the picture just by looking at... well, the pictures. It could be quite different thou, because there are a few novelty features never before seen in a game of this sort. Like breaks between rounds in order to recover, where you play a mini game, simulating an injury "cleaning", or even the getting upon after you were almost knockout unto to the floor.
The problem of the game, besides it's ugly graphics is the same with any of this sort of games, the limited punching options (just three). Martial arts games always allowed for more creativity and that's maybe because of it they are so popular.
