Reviews for Track and Field (#5360)

Review by The Dean of Games on 13 Feb 2012 (Rating: 1)

1988 Ocean Software (UK)
by Ali Davidson and P. Knecht

Ugly awful conversion of the arcade coin-op 'Track & Field', maybe one of the worst in the annals of the Spectrum history. Thank God for Hyper Sports. The two games should never be side a side, it's offensive!
The graphics are so ugly it's even hard to look at them. Playing is another ugly thing. And to help you (not!) the game crashes in the last event!! Yayy!! Arghh!!
Glad I got a copy and never bought the original.

Words cannot describe how awful this game is. Terrible graphics, awful gameplay, hardly any sound at all, it's no wonder it was only released as part of a compilation and never released as a standalone game.

Absolutely pathetic!

As an Olympic-style game, there are games that play worse than this, but as an arcade conversion a discussion is a waste of time. It's horrific in every level and when you consider Ocean released a perfectly good version of Hyper Sports a couple of years ago how on earth they managed to cock up its predecessor is a complete mystery. It's almost as if this was made as a joke, it's that bad.
