Was surprised at the low scores of this game, this was one of the first speccy games I bought and I always thought it was great, but I must be remembering the NES version because playing this again none of the good stuff is there. Can't cross road at your own free will, no stopping the garage robbers between the road, and the controlling is horrendous! I can remember being mortified loaning the tape to a friend with an amstrad (the B side of the tape was for the amstrad) and how much better the graphics were...ho hum!! But yes I can agree with others that compared to the original speccy version, this is bobbins!

Hands down one of my favourite spectrum games ever, and I think the reason I asked for a spectrum in the first place after playing this at a mates house! This is just a perfect game and still has me playing away, I can play a lot better now on a PC keyboard (and I was a 128k can't imagine what this was like on the rubber keys!!!!) Its still a tricky game at times, you'll still get trapped in a corner when everyone gangs up on you!! Another thing about this, I think the graphics are great, having seen the originals now and other versions like C64, they all just look weird to me now, the monochrome graphics on the spectrum suit this game, less distracting. And the sound, its classic, no Beatles rubbish here :)

This would have easily earned my £3.99 back in the day, absolutely brilliant game I think, only snag is that it's too short, I could have played this for ages. The author's AGD guides are great and his Spectrum Show youtube channel is a real good watch, I've played all the games he made and they are all great, but this really is my cup of tea!

Absolutely fantastic game, such a simple concept, and visually it won't any awards, but the off the wall Chris Sievey humour shines through (the man who had 23 flopped singles on 17 different labels!) Even though I've cracked how the game works I've still only ever got to number 1 once, just a shame Chris isn't around anymore for me to get on top of the pops with him! Reportedly he never got number 1 and he wrote the game!! Check it out, if you like a bit of good fun and you've been in a band in the past, this will definitely ring some bells!

Can only reiterate what others have said, it's very very good, I really enjoyed this game and it took me a while to complete it, despite being quite short. A couple more levels would have been great, I wouldn't mind a multiload with a game this good, but as it is, they have come up with something very playable, looks fantastic (very effective use of the spectrum 8x8 grid to keep it colourful, but it still feels pretty slick!) Absolute treat to see developers still churning out quality like this for the spectrum when the rock'n'roll years are long gone, this would have been a Crash Smash for sure back in the day! Another excellent recommendation from the spectrum show!
