BLOCKBUSTERS - GOLD RUN ======================= GOLD RUN is complementary to MACSEN’S Blockbusters program. It is a single player game, adapted from the successful TV quiz. The objective is to answer a series of general knowledge questions, with 2 or 3 word answers, and forge a path across the 5 x 4 matrix of hexagons. The cassette includes the game itself and hundreds of general knowledge questions to give you hours of competitive enjoyment. LOADING To run the game, make sure that the cassette is fully rewound. Type in LOAD"" and press ENTER, then press PLAY on your recorder. Several files will be loaded. (NOTE: The two sides of the tape contain identical files) PLAYING Before playing the game you will be asked: • to enter your name • to enter a level of difficulty (1-9). The higher the difficulty level the shorter the time allowed. During the game a question may be chosen by pressing the first letter (of the 2 or 3 letters) shown in that hexagon. There is no need to press ENTER. As the question is written across the screen it can be interrupted by pressing any key. Having then typed your answer press ENTER to have the computer check it. A clock on the screen counts down the time allowed for answering. If a slight misspelling occurs the player will usually be given another opportunity to answer. Note: To erase the last letter typed in an answer simply press the 0 (Delete) key. There is no need to press SHIFT and 0. At the end of the game, the best GOLD RUN time achieved so far is displayed along with your time in completing this GOLD RUN (if you were successful). You may then play another game at the same skill level or return to the start of the game to enter a new player name and a new skill level.
