Hack'n grab your way to the Computer core!


THE GAME

The year is 2012 and the financial institutions of the Earth and its colonies are almost 
entirely on credit. For the few who still use 'real money', large banks have been 
constructed, the largest of which is the L.D. International United Bank. This bank, 
located in Switzerland, is so big that most of its employees don't know their way around 
it. You are a poor computer systems engineer with the dream of becoming rich. Your plan 
is to break into the bank, which is patrolled by cyber-guards and hack into the computers 
which will allow you to transfer some cash into your much depleted bank account. So watch 
out for those cyber-guards and get hacking!


LOADING

1. Connect a suitable cassette player to your Spectrum according to the User Manual. 
   THEN FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS 3,4 AND 5 BELOW.

SPECTRUM 48/128 and PLUS 2 OWNERS

2. Put the 48/128 and Plus 2 systems into 48K mode.
3. Place the rewound cassette into the cassette player.
4. Type LOAD 11 11 on your Spectrum and press ENTER.
5. Press PLAY on the cassette player.

PLAYING THE GAME

KEYBOARD CONTROLS

All the keyboard controls are redefinable and the game can be played by using a joystick 
in any compatible interface. The default controls are as follows:

Left = 0 Right = P Jump = Q 

Even when using the joystick the HACK facility is a keyboard control, and the default 
control is ENTER.

To abort the game press 1 and 2 simultaneously.

At the bottom of the screen is the status screen; the meanings of the icons are as 
follows from left to right:

LEVEL NUMBER, STRENGTH, SCORE, KEY ICON, PASSWORD, SPARE LIVES.

At the start of each level you must wander the screens to find the key. Once you have 
the key, you must walk through each safe to collect each letter, which will appear in 
your record of the password at the bottom of the screen. The elevator will take you up 
and is signified by a shaft of light only when you are in it. To leave the elevator, 
walk left or right. Once the entire password is present, or you can guess the remaining 
letters, you must find the computer room. Press the HACK key, which will cause you to 
enter the computer system. You must then type in the password followed by ENTER. If the 
computer responds to the message by indicating that the next level has been attained, you 
must type EXIT followed by ENTER and walk over to the elevator in the room. This will 
take you to the next level.

Touching a security guard will deplete your energy, shown on the strength icon. If your 
energy reaches zero or you fall too far, you lose a life. After all seven lives have been 
lost the game is over.
