METEOROIDS ========== LOADING METEOROIDS The procedure for loading a program into your Spectrum is given on page 24 of the manual. Please follow these steps for loading Meteoroids. 1. Connect the ear socket of the computer to the ear socket of your tape recorder. 2. Set the volume control as per Sinclair manual. 3. Adjust the tone control to maximum. 4. Type Load "METEOR". 5. Start the tape recorder. The program will AUTO RUN once loaded. There are three sizes of meteoroid, and an alien ship which appears occasionally trying to ram you. Each size of meteoroid and the alien ship are worth differing points: Large meteoroid - 20 points Middle sized one - 50 points Smallest one - 100 points Alien ship - 200 points If you get into real trouble there are three ways out - fire rapid volleys, use the SHIELD or enter HYPERSPACE. The shield puts a protective force around you stopping the meteoroids from hitting you. But beware, if you hold on to it too long or use it again too soon you'll blow up! Going into HYPERSPACE puts you back somewhere else on the screen at random. This game works with JOYSTICKS too. We recommend those made by Kempston electronics (write to us for details) but any which work in a similar manner will do. On the joystick forward is THRUST, left is ROTATE LEFT, right is ROTATE RIGHT, back is HYPERSPACE. The fire button activates your laser. SCORING: A score of 2000 is beginner's level; 5000 is average; and above 20,000 means you're a master. *** EXTRA LIFE AT 10,000 POINTS GOOD LUCK!!
