OLYMPICS ======== by Matthew Bradshaw Compete against the world in this fully graphic simulation of the Olympic Games. Reach for Gold in 14 tense and exciting events both within and outside the Stadium. Hardware required: ZX Spectrum 48K INSTRUCTIONS The program should be loaded using LOAD"" as a direct command. THE GAME The object is to win as many Gold Medals as possible. Side One: Contains the first S events, these take place in the Stadium. They include 100m, 200m, Javelin, 110m Hurdles, Long Jump, 400m Shot Put, 800m and Discus. Side Two: Contains six events held outside the Stadium, being Cycling, Swimming, Canoeing, Rowing, Yachting and the famous Marathon which is run in 5 sections. The Gold medals won by the 4 teams in the Stadium on Side One are added to those won in the events outside the Stadium on Side Two. The computer holds four teams, (G.B., U.S.A., U.S.S.R. and Rest of the World) but these can be customised to your own requirements. You control the team listed first (in the standard case, G.B.) which competes against the other three teams, controlled by the computer. In many of the events the members of the players team will have only a limited quota of energy. It will take both great skill and judgement to time your attack, perhaps electing for an early lead or else saving the energy for a sprint at the finish. CONTROLS All the control keys are prompted by the computer. OLYMPICS © Computer Rentals Limited 1984 Artwork by Ed. Dovey All rights reserved.
