QUIZ QUEST ========== Over 200 questions on each of your favourite subjects, General Knowledge 1, Sport, TV, Pop Music, General Knowledge 2, plus a self program tape from which you can make up your very own quiz games. Easy to Use For simple operation and to aid disabled users we have the accept/reject method. Options (answers) are displayed, one of which is highlighted. If this is the one you should like to select, press ENTER (or FIRE if joystick). To select a different option press the space bar (Up/Down if joystick), the highlight will skip across the options. Repeat until your option is highlighted then press ENTER (FIRE if joystick). Amstrad users can also use UP/ DOWN cursor keys with COPY key to accept. How to Load LOAD "" ENTER Find your file Quiz Quest is a big game - avoid long delays by using the catalogue system to more quickly locate the required file. Set the counter on your cassette recorder to zero and play the tape using the catalogue or directory command for your particular computer (usually CAT or DIR). Write down the file name and the numerical indicator below: FILE NUMBER FILE NUMBER QQ1 TV QQ2 POP QUIZ QUEST GK2 GK1 QUIZ PREP SPORT When you now run the program it is easier to save time by moving directly to the set of questions you need to load. The Quiz Quest Challenge Having decided to take a Quiz Quest test, load the required data file. Tne computer will randomly select eight questions from the available data. Quiz Quest really is both educational and fun, you cannot complete your quest until all eight questions have been answered correctly. Each question offers 3 possible answers, you select the one you consider correct. If you answer all eight questions correctly you will move through the path without deviation. A report will state your performance results and time taken. If you answer incorrectly then you may find yourself as the diagram above. Questions 1 and 2 are answered correctly, Q3 incorrectly and you jump to a new set of eight questions. Only when you correctly complete these eight questions, and a report is given, you are returned to your original Q3. Any further errors and you are jumped to another set of eight questions and so on. You are continually returned to your set 1 until all questions in set 1 have been answered correctly and the quest completed. If you’ve not got your wits about you, you can run up hundreds of errors and all the time the clock is ticking away. A high score table is provided for a friendly challenge between friends and family. Personal Quiz Data Preparation To prepare a new set of data select Data Preparation from the main menu and Prepare New Test from the sub menu. You will be asked to enter information and the 3 answers to be offered for Question 1. Questions are limited to 60 characters, displayed 30 lines above and below. To move from top to bottom line use the space bar. When you have completed the question press ENTER The cursor will jump to Answer 1, this should be the correct answer, whereas Answers 2 and 3 should be designed to offer sensible alternatives. The maximum number of characters per answer is 25. You should be able to design 200-250 sets of questions before the memory allocated is full. Once Question 1 is completed the same procedure is offered for Question 2. You are advised to create at least 50 questions in order to produce a reasonable test but these questions can be saved at any point and then built up at a later date. On completing a session you will be asked for a filename. Once a file is created then the data preparation program can be used to add to this file. To add use Load Data To edit use Edit Data This is the quickest way to correct mistakes or replace questions. To erase individual questions or complete files use Erase Data.
