SKULL & CROSSBONES ================== A vast there ye lily-livered swabs! It's time to prove your manhood in a bloodthirsty battle to the death with the Evil Sorcerer and his henchmen. Hoist the Jolly Roger and set sail through strange and exotic lands with your old shipmates Red Dog and One Eye. Shipmates they may be, but trust them not... tempers soon flare in head to head clashes over the spoils of your piracy. Skull & Crossbones is the most blood curdling arcade game on the market - not for the faint-hearted! Blood flows, razor-sharp cutlasses hack through the flesh of hideous opponents, arms and legs are ... AAARGH... it's just disgusting! There's treasure, jewels, gold and lusty wenches to be captured and ghastly creatures to be stabbed. It's a rough and dirty job - and we all want to do it! THE GAME Join One Eye and Red Dog on a voyage of discovery through eight increasingly difficult levels in an attempt to retrieve your ill-gotten gains from the Evil Sorcerer. GETTING STARTED Playing either of the two pirates you must battle your way through the many weird and wonderful domains of the Evil Sorcerer including a castle, pirate ships, an enchanted cave and a mythical island. Eight levels of increasing difficulty, each packed with its own unique defences and dangerous obstacles. YOUR TASK Along the way you will find chests full of treasure, golden goblets, sacks of coins and other priceless items which will help you in your quest, and which you can collect by walking over them. You will also come across skulls and crossbones under which are hidden treasures. To dig these up, you will have to move onto them and press the fire button. The more valuables you can collect, the stronger you will become and the more easily you will be able to vanquish your opponents. Should you fail to pick up the treasure, your power will soon diminish and your enemies will become harder and harder to defeat. Recover buried treasure by digging up crossbones. Defeat the Evil Sorcerer's henchmen. Keep up your strength with plenty of food and drink. Use the action points to perform special combat moves. YOUR REWARD As you progress through the game, you will discover bunches of grapes, bottles of rum and other goodies essential to your survival and health. You must keep up your energy to survive! You will start the game with three credits - each time you die you will forfeit one. WATCH YOUR BACK At the end of each level, you must defeat one of the Evil Sorcerer's most faithful henchmen, who guards the prize treasure of that domain. But be careful! No sooner have you captured the treasure than your shipmate will turn on you and you must fight to the death to seize the spoils for yourself. Don't forget to rescue the captive wenches from the hands of the Evil Sorcerer. THE FINAL CONFLICT If you are one of the few brave souls who can battle through to the final scene, you will at last come face to face with your arch enemy, the Evil Sorcerer himself. Defeat him in grisly head to head combat and his wealth and power will become yours.
