Your unit were hosting a visit of the heir to the throne when the call came through - the elderly Queen of Elicor has died of natural causes, and the forces of the evil Prince L'thargy have descended upon Coranon Palace,to place his rotten posterior upon the throne. As enemy forces attack the airfield, you take off in your prototype helicopter, with none other than the true Heir Apparent onboard. Soon after, you realise - yours was the only aircraft that made it out intact. INSTRUCTIONS: ------------- Dodge clouds and scenery, destroy enemies, and defeat the end of level bosses to progress in the quest to liberate your people. Power-ups are dotted around the levels or awarded for destroying a certain number of enemies - they provide either more ammo, smart bombs, or temporary shields which can be used when you decide you need them. If your helicopter survives as far as Coronan Palace then the game loops around to level one, and you can continue adding points to your score. Hints: ----- * More shots are required to destroy enemies later in the game. * No smart bomb? Try pressing the shield key (B), you will gain temporary invulnerability. Music is provided by the BEEPer. ------------------------------------------------------- TESTING ------- The ZX Spectrum homebrew title AIR APPARENT has been extensively tested in emulator, mainly ZX Spin 0.7q for Windows. The final version replaces all previous versions released on WoS from 9th September to 1st October 2016.
