SHOGUN for ZX81 --------------- NOTE: THE EMULATOR MUST HAVE HIRES EMULATION ON, ON EIGTHYONE CHOOSE WRX The game Shogun is a partly skill, partly luck based game where your goal is to catch your opponents shogun or reduce its side to a single stone and a shogun only. After loading the game press any key and the startposition is set and you can begin to play. The stones may move the same number of places as indicated on the stone. After moving a stone another value will occur on the stone for movement. Each stone is unique. So two stones indicating a 4 on the same field wil show other values on other fields. Each stone will however get the same value when returned to a field earlier visited. The movement of the stone may only be done by changing direction once or not at all. Also the field to go to must be reached without other stones blocking a valid move. Normal stones will get the values 1 to 4 on different fields. The shogun will only get the values 1 or 2. The controls for the game are: Q = up A = down O = left P = right Z = select/move Go to the stone you want to move and select the stone with the Z-key. After selecting go to the field you want to place the stone and again press Z to set the stone. Any invalid move is indicated with FALSE. You can unselect your stone simply by making a false move and choose another stone. After your move the computer will make its move almost direct. When the computermove results in an attack to your shogun it is announced as SHOGUN, indicating the attack on your shogun. The game ends with a YOU WIN or YOU LOSE message. Press any key to start a new game. This game is the ZX81 implementation of SHOGUN_1K for the ZX Spectrum. The game is in the 2K categorie because the ZX81 has a lot of overhead (complete screen and systemvariables are loaded, as well as a HiRes routine and conversion of colour to B/W) Have fun, Dr Beep
