Sarah's Garden -------------- A Gardeners' World Inspired Deadheading Score Attack Game In BASIC for the 16K/48K/128K ZX Spectrum. C.S.S. Crap Game Contest Entry, 2020 by Andy 'Uglifruit' Jenkinson 31st May, 2020 Whilst trying to get my broken Currah Microspeech to work with one of my Spectrum Pluses (The one with the frustratingly intermittent keyboard membrane) my partner Sarah was out in the garden, gardening. Having failed with my soldering, again I eventually gave up on trying to make it my Spectrum to me, and instead started making an asterisk move around our telly screen. A couple of hours later Sarah came in to see why I wasn't helping her plant out the Nastertiums and my only retort was "But look what I *have* done! And I've even defined some UDGs using BIN in my DATA statements!" She was as impressed as you'd imagine. As I'd not plugged my DIVmmc in, and didn't have a tape deck to hand, I photographed the listing to preserve it and pulled the power lead. Later I retyped the listing into an emulator to generate this TAP file to submit to the csscgc2020. This process was very reminiscent of keying in type-in listings from Sinclair Programs but without the benefit of having a younger brother to hand to read out the statements so I could concentrate on finding the keys. Instructions are included [keys: Q,A,O,P. Deadhead the flowers, avoid the stalks, plantpots end your game]. On my best go, I scored 25 points. AJ 1.6.2020
