Sir Clive's Ink Lair -------------------- Written by Andy 'Uglifruit' Jenkinson CSS Crap Games Competition 2020 Sir Clive Sinclair is 80 years old during this contest, and this is my crap game based upon the fateful day that Uncle Clive signed the Spectrum over to Alan 'You're Fired' Sugar. What a sad day that was for the playground arguments. Had they been saying such things back then the Amstrad losers could have said "We OWNED you!" to us in team Speccy. Or even "PWNED", although I'm not sure of the pronunciation. In this game. Sir Clive has to pick his way through the contract in front of him, by using the keys O and P to dodge the gibberish Alan Michael Sugar it throwing at him. If Sir Clive is able to make his way to the end of the document, he will save the ZX Spectrum - and AMSTRAD will never get their grubby little mitts on it. The game is far too hard, so there is a secret cheat mode activated by holding Z and X - the 'magic keys'. It takes all the game out of it though, but that's not saying much as there isn't much game there anyway. Have 'fun'. Andy. FEATURES: Full machine code Smooth Scrolling (utilising a neat routine from the Spectrum Computing forums - in a discussion about screen layout by ast.a.moore) A Sound Effect (nicked from a discussion thread about programming sound effect routines on Spectrum Computing forums by Morkin) Proportional Font (using my own routine, designer and font that I've been hawking around the forums, but nobody else is interested in, so I thought I'd use it for something!) ASM source Code Provided to see how crappy my code (and commenting) is.
