Egolf (entry to the "Stand at E's" challenge) ----- (c) 2017 Anders Carlsson Welcome to a round of golf, the sport of lush grey meadows! In this game, we have three lovely courses prepared for you with fairways, rough grass, forests, bunkers, water obstacles and the tricky greens. You have five clubs to your disposal, with the following ranges: Club 1: 6 - 48 meters Club 2: 12 - 96 meters Club 3: 18 - 144 meters Club 4: 24 - 192 meters Club 5: 30 - 240 meters depending on the strength and how well you hit the ball. In order to help you aim correctly, a compass is drawn on the screen: 90 135 | 45 \|/ 180 --+-- 0 /|\ 225 | 315 270 For each stroke, you get to select one of the clubs, strength (1-20) and the angle, rounded to the nearest 15 degrees. If your ball ends out of bounds of the course or you hit a water obstacle, you will have to hit again from your current position. If you end up on the rough, your stroke will only be 80% effective. If you end up in the forest, your stroke will only be 67% effective. If you end up in the bunker, you must only use club 1 to get out of there. The calculated distance to the hole is approximated, and the error margin may seem higher once you are on the green. After you have completed all three courses, your total score will be displayed with the option to play again. Technical notes for the so inclined: While this game relies on the same pseudo random number generator as once used in the game Defender of the Crown, there are no horses, lances or anything else medieval featured in Egolf. In order to fulfil the challenge rules, the functions of SIN, COS and INT also have been entirely simulated.
