Re: Looking for +3e Drives Explorer Utility

P.S. Mar Océana description has link to the (now defunct) Spanish Forum . Yeah, that's it! IIRC, he split from other Spanish forum and created that other. To new users or something he gave a personalized copy with your username (mine shows "+3code" somewhere). Later seems he packaged it i...

Re: Looking for +3e Drives Explorer Utility

I've found it in a pendrive. It's a 37mb 7z file, containing a 236mb hdf file (for the 8 bits hd interface). But as said, not sure if the author likes to have it distributed, I think no. Take a look at the +3Workbench, it's free. PS: i've tested it (the Driver Explorer tool), seems to work fine with...

I had it, but not sure if I have it now more. IIRC the author sends personalized units in a retro forum with your username, I can't remember where.

you should make it an emulator, at least we have the experience in software :) I have no idea of programming, sorry; and I'm not really interested in that machine; as curiosy, ok, but I would find more interesting to see in the emulators avaliable some of the freak and marginal hardware designs pub...

Seems somebody started loooong ago with a somehow related idea, https://rk-internet.com/eZXSparky/specs.html
But I would say it's totally dead, so it's in your hands, go on with it.

Re: Enhanced ZX Speccy (Alike system?)

Aside from CPU speed, I don't think you can improve on the Speccy :-) I would give a vote for the ulaplus too, but that's all. Seems it would have been made with the technology of the time with a somehow double sized and more expensive ula, but it's simply a palette changer, retains the loved 2 col...

I think it's the first time ever I've seen this error while looking the forums:

It was only for some minutes +-

Re: Games with good use of push scrolling?

I don't recall many games using it, but speaking of more recent games, Spectrum version of Castlevania uses it quite nicely: https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/30192/ZX-Spectrum/Castlevania_Spectral_Interlude Nah, it's the same as Bionic Commando and Marsmare (and Bugaboo), here they use "p...

Re: Games with good use of push scrolling?

Using the second interpretation of "push scroll" pointed by Lee Bee, then Turrican (the first game) could be a good example, I think.

Ps: I loved that game, despite the tape multiload.

Lee Bee wrote: Thu May 23, 2024 6:27 pm You're basically talking about "animated flip-screen games", where the entire screen suddenly scrolls over to the next "room" when you reach the edge.
Yeah, you are right. Bugaboo should be too included in that interpretation of "push scroll".

Bionic Commando?

A recent one is Marsmare: Alienation.

Ps: maybe this needs a separate category/group in the database.

Ps2: the oldest I can find is Splat!

Ps3: error... Splat! isn't push screen, sorry. But interesting, however.

Re: The best Speccy game by Dinamic Software: vote

While I voted Don Quijote, I think Rescate Atlantis deserves more love, is one of the best Dinamic games (good graphics with scroll like AMC, good in-game music like Simulador, and very playable), so my proportional votes: 1.Don Quijote 2.Rescate Atlantis 3.Phantomas Other games that I can remember ...

You can have the different palettes stored somewhere and then load one or another, but you can't swich them with a simple OUT.
