People are still making stuff for the Sinclair related machines. Tell us about new games and other software that runs on the Spectrum, ZX80/ZX81, Pentagon and Next.
Maybe try fist another thing. Don't change the graphics, Change your animation code. Don't change the sprite each frame. Change it once for 2 or 4 frames. It should look better.
Notice that it's a game written 100% in Basic, even Break works Very impressive for me!
And it IS playable. I completed as for now only the first screen but it was quite enjoyable. You probably won't make it
on your first try but it's possible to learn and become better at it.

In my opinion the problem is not only the speed but the large pixel difference between frames. The tip of the hood only needs to move one or two pixels each time. The hood does not need to move so much; not moving at all would be better than the current version.
Sorry! I hate it when people suggest changes to my own games after release!
Announced at zx.pk.ru Sorry for the poor screenshot quality, I just linked to the source.
Looks like a conversion of some early existing game from another platform. Probably not a final version as file name says v01.
I understand that the chunky graphics are a part of the style But one thing that certainly could be improved is turning at the corridors. The game makes a common mistake requiring that you need to be at pixel perfect position to go left/right from up/down corridor and so on.
