Ofc I managed to mangle these links:

Covertapes C&VG issue 036, C&VG issue 073 and C&VG issue 088 all have duplicate running screens.
StooB wrote: Tue Dec 13, 2022 9:48 am The R-Type demo was recently added through the preservation tools, which is why it's a bit bare, "magazine issue link" still needs adding manually. The "original publisher" should be EMAP, as they published it. The other cover tapes should also have EMAP as publisher too, otherwise the "original publisher" is just the same information as the "magazine issue link":
Yeah. Same should also apply to type-ins, see:
viewtopic.php?p=106579#p106579

Hopefully the presentation of the two can be unified.

This might just be a more generic compilation issue, where it shows both the compilation and game screens, which happen to be the one and same.

The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 3/4 - https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/6 ... Aged_13_34
Current credits are kind of mess up. These are the correct ones, from the manual:

Code: Select all

Game Design: Pete Austin
Progammed by: Pete Austin
Pictures: James Horsier
Transport to your computer, adventure system and graphics system: Mike & Nick Austin
Drawings Copyright (C) 1982, 1984, 1985 Caroline Holden
Based on that:

Code: Select all

Pete Austin -- Level 9 -- Code/Design/Story
Mike Austin -- Level 9 -- Code
Nick Austin -- Level 9 -- Code
James Horsier -- Level 9 -- Graphics
Caroline Holden -- no team -- Cover Art

Batty

"Original Publisher" should be Dennis Publishing "within covertape "Your Sinclair issue 22: Smash Tape 3", as it was published on 10th September 1987, before it was released on the Six Pak compilation on 14th September 1987.

No idea. The ones from Othello and Panique maybe, but can't be sure. The latter includes a "(c) 1983 Ulrich" in the binary, but the former has nothing.
But what are the odds of having two Ulrichs programming for ERE at the same time period? Yes, they could relatives...

From the author, GLUF is a 128K only game, not 48K/128K:

Level 5

https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/2 ... um/Level_5

The end-of-game message says "Programmed by Marc Symonds", yet a certain Steve Joyce, not otherwise known, is listed as its author.

That reference has to be wrong then, like the mentions of label and price, which are correct in the database instead.

The Sinclair User review mentions:
BLUE TEXT are a relatively unknown group of programmers. Having worked previously for an established system software house, they are more used to spending their time producing business packages for the IBM PC! So it was something of a brave decision to produce a game instead.
And as a first effort Letal V certainly shows that Blue Text have potential in the games field. Hope this will be the first of many.
Marc Symond's LinkedIn profile seems to match, after working for Blue Text Ltd:
Developed a simple game for the Sinclair Spectrum for a sweet manufacturer. Purchasers of the sweets would collect tokens from the sweet packets which they could redeem for the game.

Developed another game for the Sinclair Spectrum which was sold to a game software publishing house.
Oh, and I've hassled Marc over on his blog if he could clarify.

International Karate has a full price re-release at £6.50 in 1986 by Endurance Games advertised in Popular Computing Weekly in July-October 1986.

The preservation tools won't allow this to be added as Endurance Games is also listed as a re-releaser for the 1987 budget release.

I guess both inlays by Endurance Games belong to the full price re-release. Right?

Le Lu/Lu's

https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/list?label_id=8331

and LE LU/LU'S

https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/list?label_id=19663

look like they are the same.

More info here. A mild synthpop (pretty good for curing insomnia actually) indie act indulging in some Spectrum programming?

This is the Fragile Things track with the Spectrum Blipverts demo recorded soon after:

Yes, the barcode is from much earlier than September 1987. But it's likely that they used exactly the same inlay for the budget release.

Buccaneer

The original 1985 release is by Insight Software - all the adverts are for this version and there is a review in YS January 1986. The Firebird re-release is in 1986 with reviews in October and December and had a price of £1.99.

Ballbreaker II has one of the authors as "Jez Sands". In the Crash review it mentions Jez Sands as the author of Starglider.

This is undoubtedly referring to the creator of the original game that came out on the Atari ST - Jez San.

Pack of Aces

Re-release #1 is also Paxman, not Prism Leisure. The year of the re-release is 1990 according to the cassette label.

One entry says it was re-released by Romik Software (original release unknown), the other says it was originally released by Romik Software.

Which one is correct?

OK, I suggest we fix his name to Jez San ("Sands" is probably a mispelling) and credit those 3 mentioned authors as level designers in this game.
