Hi all! Mike directed me to this thread. For some reason, I'm not getting notifications. Will check that so apologies for keeping you all in suspense!

Despite having dabbled with pixel art ever since my ZX81/ZX Spectrum/Amiga days, I didn't consider my works worthy of submitting to game companies. I was naïve and more into playing all the latest games! So anything pre-2000 (for argument sake) listed in Spectrum Computing database with the same name as me, isn't me.

Every homebrew and re-imagined game loading screens I've done are at ZX Art website. The URL contains "andy-green1". https://zxart.ee/eng/authors/a/andy-green1/ so I hope that helps too.

@R-Tape Al those software links in your comments isn't me. I have no other aliases.

Coincidentally I just noticed this morning my SC emails are all going to spam. I think @PeterJ needs to set up SPF or DKIM, or look at why they’re not working if they are already set up.

Might solve it now, but what if you do that for all Andy Greens and they live/move to the same city?
With the current data in the DB, I'm not sure yet what to use to make a person unique.

Even great kings were numbered like I, II, III. So there is no problem for the Andy's.

Since people move around, and multiple people can live in the same location, it seems to me an unwise way to try to distinguish people. I personally don't see what's wrong with numbers.

There's nothing wrong with numbers. We still use numbers for homonymous whenever we don't have a better way to distinguish them.

But suppose you are searching for "Stephen King". Would you prefer that SpectrumComputing give you this list of results:

Stephen King [1]
Stephen King [2]
Stephen King [3]
Stephen King [4]
Stephen King [5]

or this list of results:

Stephen King [Oxford]
Stephen King [Portland]
Stephen King [Sydney]
Stephen King [Lincolnshire]
Stephen King [Ireland]

This is a good idea!

Although I wouldn't put it between brackets this way, because it won't work for companies and we want a single consistent way to distinguish homonymous. But each entity has a field "comments" that's more adequate for this kind of information anyway. We could show comments in the list of results whenever available.
