Wanted: Inlays
Next games imcredibly hasn't got their first-release inlays preserved (in some cases even re-releases). Maybe there are more games like them, if you know any post it here.
I had a search in SC/WoS and Mobygames and I couldn't find anything:
GBA Basketball Two on Two (Gamestar)
Blizzard Pass (Adventuresoft UK)
Bug-Eyes (Icon Software)
Cybertanks (Star Dreams)
Genghis Khan (Positive)
Gunboat (Piranha)
Iwo Jima (PSS)
Saracen (US Gold)
Supergran - the Adventure (Tynesoft)
The Fall of Rome (ASP Software)
Warlock (The Edge)
Samurai Trilogy (Gremlim Graphics)
Spy vs Spy III: Arctic Antics (Databyte)
It'd be great if someone upload any to the archive.
I'll do something similar with instructions.

Re: Wanted: Inlays
I made some Google search.
Found so far:
Blizzard Pass (Adventuresoft UK)
Bug-Eyes (Icon Software)
Genghis Khan (Positive)
Gunboat (Piranha)
Spy vs Spy III: Arctic Antics (Databyte)
Some of the inlays come from another systems. The quality differs. So take them or leave them as you wish.

Re: Wanted: Inlays
Thanks Ralf.
The idea is if someone has the phisical tapes he might scan the inlay and upload to this archive.
If someone misses another inlay, he can report it to this thread.
Checking the inlays you provided I see only Blizzard Pass and Genghis Khan are useful, as the others are for other computers. I'll send them to the admins.

Re: Wanted: Inlays
Well, as you say some of the inlays are for other computers. But I believe ZXDB already has inlays and instructions taken from other platforms where Spectrum version couldn't be found. Can't find examples at the moment but I'm sure they do exist.

Re: Wanted: Inlays
Yes, there are many. For example, Samurai Trilogy, that includes the C64 inlay but it's marked as 'C64' in the file's name.
This case is extrange, as it's from a very well known company (Gremlin Graphics) and nobody has a tape of it???
Re: Wanted: Inlays
Hi Guys,
Feel free to dig though my 4000 game scans on the internet archive. I am getting the budget version of Samurai Trilogy to scan, and I know where I can source the full version though it will cost 15 plus postage . Think I have a few of your needed scans.
You can find them under zzapmort and check out spectrum inlays, they are under letters of the alphabet, with b1 and b2 for example being where there are a lot of entries to break up the download.
All the best
Mort

Re: Wanted: Inlays
After a quick check in Mort's files at archive.org, I only found Spy vs Spy III - Arctic Antics, the original release from Databyte.
As this inlay is missing in SC, I'll upload it (at a smaller resolution).
After your words, Mort I presume there's no problem in including some missing files from your archive in Spectrum Computing archive (at a smaller resolution), right?

Re: Wanted: Inlays
Could do with a better copy at some point but I guess this'll do in the meantime, right?
I'm pretty sure I've got The Fall of Rome somewhere too but that wasn't in especially good nick either. If I find it then I'll upload it.

Re: Wanted: Inlays
Ok, Thanks! I'll upload it to SC.
Let's hope this thread helps us get all the (still) missing inlays.
Samurai Trilogy is a strange case, as it's from a very well known company, Gremlin Graphics, it must have sold thousands of copies, so it there must be any inlay out there...
Re: Wanted: Inlays
Just Paid £18 for it so it should be with me early next week

Re: Wanted: Inlays
I own this tape+inlay. But there are still some gaps among Gremlin Graphics titles. But I think in the next some months the full set of Gremlin Graphics inlays in hi-res resolution will be uploaded at SC site.Juan F. These are very great news!

I misread this thread as "Wanted: In-laws" and thought it was an odd topic to say the least.

Re: Wanted: Inlays
Hi Juan,
No problems any res you need to use is fine. If a backup at your end of all the files could be held , or by someone here it would be great as you never know if the files will go down.
Good news is that I have just got and Scanned Samurai Trilogy so should be uploaded in about 20 mins!
Even has the offer slip for a poster.
All the best
Stephen aka Mort

Re: Wanted: Inlays
If you want to use the scanned instructions and tapes and convert them to pdfs to add to the database feel free on all the tapes, as this will give full instructions and all the artwork, missing when they are just a txt file.
A lot of the scans also contain Maps and other freebies that came with the Games

Re: Wanted: Inlays
Hi Mort !
I have had a search through your archive, looking for the Salamander inlay (Konami release) but what I find is this:
https://archive.org/download/spectrumin ... nlay01.jpg
It seems part of its instructions instead of the inlay.

Re: Wanted: Inlays
Looks like a genuine mistake by me, the tape is somewhere in the loft so will update it when I find it again! Apologies
