Releases page
It seems this page is frozen. The content is still same for last several weeks/months.

I noticed that today too. I checked that and 'UPDATES' to see if I'd done things on Pav's form correctly. PeterJ - what's the difference between UPDATES and RELEASES, and how are they updated?

Hi R-Tape,
I think this one was a creation from Einar Saukas.

Re: Releases page
I don't think so. It was one of the first pages at SC site and Einar couldn't program web pages yet in that time.

Re: Releases page
BTW, what is the sorting now? I can see titles from 2021 on pages 1&2 only. And it is still quite small number.Einar Saukas wrote: ↑Mon Nov 01, 2021 2:52 pm I don't even remember creating this page but it should be working now

Re: Releases page
Sorry pavero and Einar Saukas,
Maybe it was me. I can't always remember what happened yesterday, let alone 3+ years ago!

Re: Releases page
There is no need to sorry, because Einar doesn't protest.

Re: Releases page
If you put the blame on me, I will end up rewriting the entire site
Anyway I improved the query so it should show all entries now. Please take a look.

Re: Releases page
Just a thought ...
If we have not defined DATEINSERT attribute in the Entries table, it doesn't exist an easy way how to filter/sort new added entries in ZXDB. Am I right Einar Saukas?
I guess it was the original purpose of UPDATES page:
https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.php?cat=100
(release_year can be different, it can't be used for sorting)
(entry_id can't be used too, because we have 4 different sets, some IDs are reserved for Preservation tools, etc.)

Re: Releases page
Fixed!
New entries are created in numeric order so it's easy to sort by new entries. Except this sequence was changed when everyone started using your online form, but now I modified the queries to take this into account.
Everything should be working properly now.

You have added this sorting condition:Einar Saukas wrote: ↑Mon Nov 01, 2021 10:55 pmFixed!

IF(e.id between 36699 and 37607,0,1)
Yes, it will be working if every new entry will be added via online form. But if you or Dave will use another way (ID >37607), these entries will be "deeply" in the list.

Re: Releases page
We are both exclusively using the online form to add new entries now.
