Some rare/missing files ?
Some rare/missing files ?
Today I found in a old forgotten archive, about 170 zip files with some rare Spanish or Portuguese titles and compilations.
I didn't check in detail, but I see some of them in SC database, but some are not, possible even in MIA status.
An interesting example is the Arkanoid2, written in Basic, with a decent performance.
Its located in the link as an example, with the list of all other titles:
https://easyupload.io/m/mbbkml
I can send all missing files to PeterJ or R-Tape for preservation team, if needed...

Yes, I noticed some reworked titles with changed names.Neil Parsons wrote: ↑Wed Nov 17, 2021 7:06 pmThank you!
That Arkanoid2 is a re-worked version of Moises Vilalta Pons' Bunker, published in Microhobby magazine. It seems only the title was changed.
There are also more games from Hipocrates Soft, which I haven't seen in SC database, unless they are listed under different names, too...

Thanks Pegaz,
You can add new titles via the online forms that pavero built.
Reworks are always a difficult one, but I would start with the original titles.
Thanks for the find.

Re: Some rare/missing files ?
Thanks Peter, how do I send all titles, as one archive ?
It seems for admins only...

Re: Some rare/missing files ?
You must add new titles one by one via this form (ENTRY_ID must be generated firstly):
https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/zxdb/ad ... _entry.php
(in two steps - generate + publish buttons)
And then you can upload files for them:
https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/zxdb/ad ... _files.php
(Or create ZIP archive with all files, each file must contain ENTRY_ID in its filename. )
Re: Some rare/missing files ?
Unfortunately, I don't have time to enter all the data for about 170 files.
For most of these titles, I have very little data, especially because I don't know Spanish/Portuguese.
If any of you wants, I can send this archive to review and evaluate for preservation purposes...

Re: Some rare/missing files ?
Welcome to our world!
I'd be interested to see them. I'll send you a PM. I'm working on Woot, so probably won't find time this year, but getting it in the queue would be a start. Maybe someone will volunteer to sort through it all in the meantime. By the sound of it, these need an experienced eye to pick the original from the mod, and the mod from the crack. For most of these titles, I have very little data, especially because I don't know Spanish/Portuguese.

How the Spanish scene revival started? I suppose, this happened in 2003?
How the people gathered? Or did they already have contact through all the 90's?

Re: Some rare/missing files ?
One of the most important events was the creation of Computer Emuzone website. It also had its own seal for new games for 8 and 16 bits, and it was the big seed of what the spanish scene is nowadays or, at least, what it was in the 2003-2010 years.Alone Coder wrote: ↑Thu Nov 18, 2021 10:13 am How the Spanish scene revival started? I'm pretty sure I've found these files from there.
Thanks, the mystery is (probably) solved.
At the moment, I cant find the games from Hipocrates software, but still this web page is my best bet...

Re: Some rare/missing files ?
Games signed by Hipocrates Software were normally published by Monser company (a Spanish label dedicated mostly to hack official videogames), throughout their software magazines "48K" and "Software Magazine" (this one is complete at El Trastero Del Spectrum, mentioned before by André Leao), and also appeared on "Tus Juegos" packs.
