Reviews for Combat School (#1028)

An action packed game involving smashing the joystick left and right to run faster over the screens.

The fire button allowed you to jump over walls and shoot targets etc.

Excellent conversion of the military-themed multi-event sport coin-op from Konami.

All events have been faithfully reproduced from the original. Most of them involve the usual joystick waggling with the odd fire button pressing, which must be performed with great care - the first event is particularly punishing about this.

However there are some sections where you will have to shoot targets and even use unarmed combat, the last task being a hostage rescue mission from a terrorist occupied embassy.

A great conversion and a fun and varied game in itself, albeit some events are much more difficult than others.

Hyper Sports goes military.
It has some very nice events and it is a very good conversion, but the game brings nothing new, just the theme.
Good for some Joystick smashing. I bet this games were a delight to the Joystick manufacturers.

Highly impressive arcade conversion with intense Hyper Sports style gameplay, to call it a challenge that'll leave your fingers feeling knackered is a right understatement.

Another Ocean great.

Never got into this game, seems far too fussy to take seriously. The shooting levels were nice but any sprint events were a pain. I also didn't appreciate that there was no keyboard option for player 1, so I had to always play a 2 player game just so I can use the keyboard with player 2. Not terrible but not overly playable.

Wonderful conversion. Excellent graphics, nice musics, well programmed.. A delight of game, specially on 128k machines.

The best of the waggle joysticks games, and curiously isn't sport based, but on military instructions.
