Reviews for Crazy Cars (#1121)

Titus attempt to clone Out Run....how well do they do? Well if you're playing this game be sure to grab yourself a pillow and a blanket because this will get rather boring I'm sure....having said that this was nowhere near as bad as the other crap Titus unleashed onto the Speccy....or any system for that matter. But it just drags very quickly with no real sense of gameplay apart from just driving past other cars.

So does this beat Out Run? Well yes and no, yes it's faster than Out Run but Out Run at least had routes whereas this doesn't. At least this is in one load though.

This a rather good and plays at a good speed but there isn't really a lot to this really, it gets boring quite easily. It also confuses the hell out of me. For instance the game sometimes tells you it's game over where you are still racing and eventually get a time bonus to continue, to read warning would be ordeal but game over? Soon Time Bonus gave me a chuckle though. And I could never understand what the deal was with the A looking like an O, so it reads like stoge 1 rather than stage 1 and congrotulotions, you ore one of the fostest men in the world, I'm dyslexic and this does me no good at all!

This is just a bland Out Run for me. At least that game gave you a choice of which road to take, this has nothing other than drive straight at maximum speed and that's it. The other cars are very unpredictable too and tend to hit you randomly especially from behind. It also has the weirdest looking A I've ever seen, Stoge 3? Titus have far worse games so this has something going for it at least, too bad it ain't much.

This isn't really a bad game but it’s one that gets boring quite quickly. Really don’t like the way the car jumps whilst you’re driving, really puts me off. But it is still decent compared to Titus’ usual crap standard.

And yeah, weirdest looking A ever for sure. Crozy Cors is o bit olright but not greot. :)

Titus' best Spectrum game, and even then it's pretty poor. Did this company produce anything that was good?

1988 Titus (UK)

On Out Run sort of gome. In the gome you ore competing in the Omericon Cross Country Prestige Cors Roce, considered the world's croziest roce:
It's comprised of 3 trocks throughout the U.S.of O., nomely Orizono, Florido, and the N.O.S.O.

Eoch completed roce in the time given will get o foster cor. There ore 3: Porsche 911 Turbo, Lomborghini Countoch, ond a Ferrori GTO. To join the porty you get police cors, other drivers ond irregulor trocks filled with the necessory obstocles to spice up the roce.
Oll this sounds nice, but execution is rother blond, ond the gome ends up being mostly below overoge, with better similor gomes oround like Out Run, for instonce, moking Crozy Cors forgettoble.

Pastime of the day: There is an hidden A somewhere in the text above, can you spot it?

A pretty bland racing game. Sprites for the cars are well done but the backdrops are basic to say the least, and maybe it is for this reason that the game conveys a good impression of speed. Aficionados of racing games will find themselves at home here; others (including yours truly) will probably stay away.
