Weridly, I went back to the original World of Spectrum's Randomseek and it gave me this game, and I haven't done it yet and so here we are. This is a popular game and I can see why, it would have done well if released back in the day I feel. But it's simply not for me, three levels was enough, the movement is far too fussy for my liking.

Just discovered this, and love it.
Fully my kind of game. A good puzzler, well presented, that is in no way compromised by the 8-bit platform.
It is an isometric Sokoban-ish game, with some elements of chess and a few bells and whistles. Great level design, with the earlier levels acting as tutorials, introducing new elements to the game, one by one - easing you in and guiding you towards more fiendish challenges.
Possibly not everyone's cup of tea, but if you like puzzle games and chess - there is a good chance you will love this. Nice to see such originality and effort put in to a "modern" Speccy title.

This is a magnificent little wonder, which is hidden among so much arcade game and such. Fully recommended for children or for those looking for logic, strategy or just something different, elegant and brimming with quality.

It's able to bring much more life to puzzles and logic to the Sinclair machine perfectly fitted to its limitations.

Brilliant and elegant presentation and graphics.

2009 Digital Brains (Spain)

An interesting puzzle game mixing chess elements with new ideas. It's not a chess game, mind you, but you do move your piece, the black horse, which is to say the Knight just as you do in a chess board. There are also other chess pieces along the way, together with different objects to pick up. The game as some resemblances to W*H*B*, although the later plays a lot more fluidly and demands more brain agility from the player.
Black Horse suffers from a one movement possibility, the famous Knight L-shape move, which impairs the players creativity, but that's the nature of the game.
A great puzzle game, nonetheless.
