1990 Atlantis Software (UK)
by Graham Shaw, David Shaw and Adrian Shaw

One of the best game by the three Shaw Brothers. It's not very original, in fact it owes it's idea from games such as Atic Atac or Knight Lore's from where the day/night cycle first apeared and it's looks and ambience are similar to Firelord . The game plays admirably well, with smooth movements and straightforward action, although collision detection could be improved. Graphically it looks very good, I would prefer less blocky looking characters and buildings (specially the trees) but I admit It functions quite well.
The action happens between day and night, increasing the danger by night, after all your hunting a vampire (the last one it seems!).

Let's analyze some of the most recent reviews:
Last Vampire, The (1990)
Well I think that'll be easy.
Basically, you have Firelord with the ability to fire from the beginning.
Oh, and that nice day/night cycle. A nice touch, indeed.

Unfortunately, it looks easy to be hit by fast characters. Or at least, collision occurs a few pixels before contact, I don't know, maybe it's me or emulation.

in any case, it's 1990 and maybe you expect more. But overall, it's a fairly correct software, though it lacks passion.

Oh yeah I remember this one. It starts with a movie credits like screen with the infamous “Starring You HAS The Hero”. And who is this hero you ask? Well it appears to be somebody cosplaying as John Rambo which doesn't make any sense for a vampire game but ok whatever. It's very much similar to most of the other Shaw Brothers games but it's lacking some charm compared to some of them such as Heartbroken for instance. Indeed as previously stated by manu it's very easy to be hit by the enemies in this game, mostly by walking into them in fact. It's not bad but the Shaw Brothers did better than this and I'm sure they did better games I haven't come across yet.
