Taffy Turner has great nostalgia value for me. Playability was the key to this game, it was possible to have many an endless evening just to advance by one level. Each new level introduced something new making it both challenging and rewarding. I remember getting as far as the red brick level and not being able to getter any further for weeks. The level with the playing cards was always a fun one, especially if you forgot to leave the middle creature to last, (it had especially good hunting skills). I only got to the final level once, at the time I didn't know it was the last level. I even remember creating a playground game based on Taffy Turner in Junior school. I would definitly recommend giving the game a go, although patience is advised, learning the routine to each level will get you through it.

Not sure why Ian Ellery is tagged on this game. I wrote it, signed a contact with Silversoft and never heard from them again, they never paid me a penny, totally ripped me off. So they became CRL eh! How ironic that is as the LAST Spectrum game I wrote 'Time Fighter' a C64 conversion was for CRL and they tried to rip me off (something about being in Administration, but if I gave them the game then they could pay me later!) Once bitten, twice shy I refused, never got released.
BTW there was a back door, if you held down all the letter keys for my name brendan kelly at once you had infinite lives, not sure if it works on the world of spectrum javascript emulator though.
A maze game which sadly hasn't aged well at all - simple graphics with garish colors and monotonous gameplay, plus an annoying beep tune continuously running in the background are not what I consider the better recipe for a Spectrum game. Even by 1985 standards this was to be considered archaic.

Taffy Turner is above average and very charming . A loveable game indeed !! ;)
Playing Taffy Turner is a very pleasant experience and nothing very taxing .
Taffy Turner is the sort of video-game that I will always play with a smile on my face .
Not excellent but pretty , pretty good .

I was confused as hell with this at the start but once I realised what I was meant to be doing I got into it. It's a fun little game that I can play time after time again if I wanted to. But if you read bkelly's review, that's the author of this game who states he wasn't paid a penny for this. The rotten bastards.

A very colorful game from 1985, reminiscent of a lot of early 1980's arcade coin-ops which tried to achieve the same level of success Pac-Man did. Initially the game can get confusing, what you must do is chase the moving characters (turtles in level 1), which in turn will transform into baddies (ghosts in level 1) that you then must avoid, after you catch them all, a small staircase will appear and you must step into it, this completes a level. Because the screen gets a bit crowed, it's hard to see what is and what it's not a good or a bad guy, this adds confusion to the gameplay and takes away some of the fun, you start to feel like you are in automatic pilot, but it's still a great arcade maze game.
