Bomber Bob in Pentagon Capers is a Bomb-Jack style game where you simply have to walk and fly around collecting bombs and avoiding enemies. Sounds simple but trust me its not, the game is very difficult to control properly which makes its very awkward to avoid the enemies.
The graphics are really nice for 1985 and certainly a great job from young Timothy Closs who was still in school when he made this game! The game also has a nice but pretty repetative tune.
All in all, Bomber Bob is a simple game to pick up but very difficult to master. Still, its a very fine effort to say the least.
Tries to be like Bomb Jack and fails miserably, due to bad graphics and animation, poor sound and confusing gameplay. A lame attempt at copying from a classic.

Bomber Bob is an unofficial version of the famous Bomb Jack which would appear one year later already duly legalized.
While not as addictive I find interesting the changes that were made. The game is much more difficult than the original, in fact one of the reasons why many people loved 86's Bomb Jack was its ease. Everyone could play it, from kids to adults alike.
Int the other hand this one takes patience and planning and play a few times to get it right. So for all those who hated Bomb Jack for being so easy, here you have another identical one but much harder

A rather poor variation in-between Pang and Bomb-Jack .
Play any of those two before even trying this lame imitation ! That´s my advice ...

It's an early Bomb Jack clone, programmed by Timothy Closs of I-Ball fame.
Presentation is good, with a very nice beeper tune, colourful titles, and well-animated graphics, with relatively big sprites.
Anyway, the bigger the sprite the narrow the space, and this doesn't help in a game where manoeuvrability is essential. It's not that bad, anyway.

This is like Bomb Jack and we know that was one of the finest games on the Spectrum and one of the best arcade conversions ever, this though is a bit naff really. It was never going to top Bomb Jack but it isn't even a decent clone either. The movement is far less fluid and while it doesn't look the worse it's still quite shoddy in comparison to Bomb Jack. But it is at least better than Bomb Jack II so it at least achieves something.
