1986 Alpha-Omega Software (UK)

I would have rated this game with a 3 if it had been released until 1984.
It's similar to Project Future or Psytraxx. Even the objective is similar.
I fancy the simplistic Atic Atac-like graphics, but let's face it, they are pretty crappy for 1986. Mind you, it's not at all a bad game, it's enjoyable enough, but again, had it been released earlier I think it can had been more welcomed.
But after all, at low budget price you couldn't expect much.

PS: I discovered a testing flaw in the game, which basically blocks the passage of our hero, making him stand between walls, without being able to get out. You have to wait until the energy levels wears out, which can take quite a long while.

Captain Slog is a clone of Project Future which in turn is a clone of Atic Atac mixed with Robotron 2084, in short, a maze game with creepy creatures slowly walking toward you, and useful items spreaded around. It's not the most professional game released in 1986, in fact it's a bit rough, but it's fast and playable, with nice sound effects, and some fun can be squeezed out of it. As of now, it's got only 4.38 of average from 13 votes in the WoS archive, but I don't think it's that bad: as a crap game is a bit of a disappointment for me. 3/5

Dull, unoriginal and badly programmed clone of Project Future. An appallingly bad waste of code way below the standards of its time, even for budget games. Avoid at all costs.
