Reviews for City Connection (#974)

Written in the 80s but never published. One of the forgotten gems, and - when you get into it - one of the best arcade conversions ever written for the Spectrum. Colourful, good scrolling and full of neat features, the Honda Civic is the unlikley hero of this twist and turn platform highway game.

How is it possible that this game has never been marketed?
Such an excellent game, the animation of our car is brilliant, the gameplay is fabulous and the programming is remarkably good. I simply love the movement of the background.
Didn't the arcade game in which it was inspired had the expected success and no one wanted to venture or the authors simply never sent it out to a software house? The year is unknown, so maybe the game was written way after the spectrum golden years.

This reminds me of Carvup on the Amiga only without the silly cartoon graphics. It's a shame it didn't get a proper release because it's an excellent game that's unlike anything else on the spectrum.

A different kind of platformer with smooth movements and many original features to enjoy ... !!!

City Connection is a game in a million with alluring landscapes and all ...

Drawbacks ?? I canĀ“t think of one ... 5/5 .

What an impressive conversion this game is. Game play is awesome like everything in the game is. Why the hell no one published this pearl?

It's a mystery to me as to why this was left unpublished, this certainly would have gotten rave reviews if released during the Spectrum's heyday, because it's very good. The illustration is very nice, really impressed the hell out of me and the scrolling is quite nice as well. I did happen to run into some inconsistencies with the controls but I still found this to be a good, addictive game.
